Freenom is a domain registrar that seems to be more exclusive or popularly known for their registration of the free .Tk, .ML, and .Ga domain extensions. They give users the opportunity to register domain names with these three (3) extensions absolutely free for up to 12 months.
As a blogger with low budget, you might have no option other than to settle for a free domain name. Also, some bloggers simply use these free domains to create new blogs with which they use to do tests of codes, scripts, SEO tips, etc to see the effects before applying to their main blog, while there are some who just do it to have new temporary blogs with Google Adsense compliance for the purpose of getting Adsense approval.
Well, whatever the reason for choosing to get a free domain from freenom for your blogspot blog, there would be need to map the domain to your blogger blog. And if you don’t have knowledge of how to go about that, well, that is why this post has been conceived.
So you want to map your freenom domain to your blogger blog? Simply follow the steps outlined below and at the end of this tutorial, you will be able to successfully add your .Tk, .ML, or .Ga domain name to your blogger blog.
==> After you have successfully registered the domain name with freenom, go to the the domain page and click on the Manage Domain button.

==> In the page that will open showing the selected domain name information, click on the “Manage Freenom DNS” link on the top navigation.
==> A page will load showing a message that there is “No records to display” and with input fields just below to add record.
==> The first thing we need to do is add the blogger default “A records”. In the Add record section, leave the “Name” input field empty, select (leave) “Type” as A (since we are adding A records), change “TTL” from “1440” to “300”, and write “216.239.38.21” under “Target”. Then save the record.
==> Repeat the procedure to add three (3) more A records but changing the target values to  “216.239.36.21”, “216.239.34.21” and “216.239.32.21” respectively. Ensure to save the A records added.
==> Next we have to add the CNAMES. Open your blogger account in a new tab in your browser and go to the “Settings” page of the blogger blog you wish to map the domain to.
==> Click on “Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog” and enter the domain name with www inclusive. E.g. www.yourdomain.tk. Click “Save.”
==> An error will result, with the message “We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12.” Under this error message, you will be provided two CNAMES as seen in the image below.
==> Open the tab with the Freenom setup. Select to Add a record. Put “www” under “Name” and “ghs.google.com” under “Target”. Set “Type” as “CNAME” (because we are adding CNAME). Don’t change TTL “1440”. Then Save. This is the first CNAME.

==> Select to Add another record so as to add the second CNAME. Copy the second CNAME from the blogger tab, and put the first string “ex. 6j7df563442q” under “Name” and the second string “ex. gv-i3skzwrvm553a.dv.googlehosted.com” under “Target”. Set “Type” as “CNAME”. Don’t change TTL “1440”. Then Save.
==> You have successfully set up your free domain on freenom to map to blogger. You would have to wait for about an hour for the settings to be completed.
==> Then, you can head back to the blog “Settings” page, click on “Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog” again and enter the domain name again and click Save.
==> Ensure to tick or check to “Redirect yourdomain.tk to www.yourdomain.tk” and Save.
==> Your free domain is now completely mapped to your blogger blog and you can now enter it on browsers to visit your blog.
